Launch of FEED Tender for Livista’s first Plant in north Germany

In mid December Livista invited 4 EPC contractors to tender for the Front End Engineering and Design of its first Lithium refinery plant in North-West of Germany for 30 000 tpa of Lithium Hydroxide Monhydrate battery grade and 10 000 tpa of Li-Carbonate battery grade.

The plant will be able to use feed-stock material from Spodumene, from Brine or Li-Sulfate or Lithium carbonate from recycling battery material, contributing to the circular economy of the Lithium supply chain and to the European independence in critical raw material.

The FEED scope of work will ensure minimum carbon footprint, with nearly 100% green renewable energy usage. It will also ensure maximum ESG compliance criteria while minimizing plant CAPEX and OPEX thanks to the scale effect of Livista Execution Plan, which considers an expansion for both its German and UK plants, enabling to maximize implementation of lessons learnt.

This FEED process confirms that 2023 will be a pivotal year for Livista to achieve its target of entering production of Lithium Battery Grade products in 2026.

Each plant shall provide enough lithium battery grade for the batteries of 850 000 EV.

It will allow to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, contributing to make Livista an essential piece of the EV supply chain in Europe and a precursor of the circular economy of Lithium by developing local cooperation.
